We are very excited to introduce Bob Elton, FCA, as a speaker at our 5th Annual BWT Event happening next Thursday on March 5, 2015 at the Law Courts Inn Restaurant. Bob an Executive Leader at Vancity and also the Chair of the Minerva Foundation for BC Women. His extensive resume also includes working at BC Hydro for 8 years, as CEO from 2003-2009. While he was there, BC Hydro’s executive and other senior leadership became the most gender balanced among the world’s utilities.
Currently Chief Risk Officer at Vancity, Bob has spent over 2 years on the executive team, and is again greatly focused on leadership. He is a Director of various companies and not for profit organizations.
Beyond being the Chair of the Minerva Foundation for BC Women, Bob’s community activities include being an adjunct professor at UBC Sauder School of Business, where he teaches leadership as well as serving as the Chair of the advisory board for Lunapads, a for profit social enterprise.
Bob is most passionate about:
- Learning from others– some of whom are older and wiser – and many of whom are younger and wiser – than me.
- Asking questions, and listening to the answers.
- The future that our grandchildren will have.
