As we approach the holiday season, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the tremendous achievements we have made as a BWT collective and the individual successes of our BWT members.
BWT has made a positive impact on diversity, created strategic value for our sponsor organizations and provided some invaluable opportunities for women to network, develop and grow.
The 2015 BWT achievements were numerous, and we would like to recognize the part each of our members played in making this a memorable year. Here are some of the highlights:
Strategy: Collectively, we launched BWT as a Network after demonstrating consistent momentum and success with our annual Marquee event and gaining sponsor support to evolve the organisation.
Sponsorship: In addition to retaining our current sponsors (BC Hydro, LifeLabs, SAP, Sodexo, TELUS and Vancity), we successfully welcomed McCarthy Tetrault as our seventh sponsor.
Governance: 2015 saw the formation of our Governance structure, made up of primes and co-primes from each sponsor company, with the mandate to professionally represent each sponsor company with leadership, decision making responsibilities and commitment.
Events: In addition to successfully executing on our fifth annual Marquee event, 2015 was the inaugural year for our In-Year Events stream. The team supports our strategic goal of developing BWT as a network. We organised five key events (Annual Marquee event, TED talk, BWT recognition event, Speed Mentoring and Millennials meet Executives), as well as promoting numerous events and activities hosted by our sponsor companies.
Membership: The key to our collective success is our invaluable members. It is through their dedication, passion and commitment that we have created this new avenue in support of diversity. Thank you to our members!
Looking forward to 2016
We look forward to continuing the momentum in the new year as we focus on our renewed objectives, based on our 2015 lessons learned:
Increasing Executive involvement: Each sponsor company will focus on engaging their executives in BWT events and opportunities to further enhance BWT’s strategic intent.
Annual Marquee event: We are committed to executing on our sixth annual Marquee event.
In-Year Events and Activities: We’ll create a calendar of events that reflect our strategy and vision while continuing to create opportunities for our members to network, develop and grow.
